Thoughtful piece by  Andrew Spong on the future of traditional for-profit publishing in light of the recent growth of open access publishing models (which are NOT FREE), but usually are NOT-FOR-PROFIT.   Ergo. they can make a profit, and some make big profits, but that is not their default business model…
